Production to Start on 'Atlas Srugged, Part 2'

Production on "Atlas Shrugged: Part 2" will begin in September, LaTi is reporting. The plan is to bring the film to theatres during the 2012 election season.

LaTi also informs that "Atlas Shrugged: Part 1," grossed $4.6 million during its five-week theatrical run this spring. The movie cost $20 million to produce. Clearly, the backers expect significant dvd and television revenues. The producers are retaining the home entertainment rights, but are paying a distribution fee to Fox to release the film on DVD, Blu-Ray, digital download and video on demand.

Deals for TV, pay-TV airings and various foreign distribution rights are being negotiated.

The 'Atlas Shrugged' series is a planned trilogy based on the novel of the same name, which was written by Ayn Rand.

  1. Trouble is, it'll give the wrong message. The alternative to Communism is not the status quo as currently in UK/USA. Those who would use Ayn Rand to scare people into supporting the present ruinous, corrupt and increasingly authoritarian system, must also be rejected.

  3. Denninger has a valid point and I am very disappointed.

    RP sounds like Ellen Brown.
