Bernanke Strikes Again (This time at Taco Bell)

James E. Miller emails:

Bernanke strikes again: I went to Taco Bell for lunch today and the $5 box meal is now missing from the menu. It is also gone from the website. The "Chicken Flatbread Box" which contains the same items as a $5 box is now about $6. Only a month ago, I visited Taco Bell and purchased a $5 box so this is a recent development.

  4. My internet bill just got hiked 30%. I am looking for other options, but there aren't many to be found. This really ticks me off because now I may have to do without internet altogether (or, use the libraries connection). Dammit.

  5. All central bankers are striking everywhere. Here in my local town (in India) the grocery stores are now charging for polythene carry bags, which they use to give for free previously! I paid 1 rupee yesterday.

  6. There are two ways to get around this
1.Pack up and head to greener pastures elsewhere
or, 2.Elect Ron Paul for president and help him fold the Fed-up and pulverize it into manure for greener pasture.

  7. Those $5 deals remain but the size and quality will certainly diminish. Foot long can stick around but does the weight decrease? Even if weight is down, are they adding cheap filler? We see inflation nibbling at the margins at the unit level...and still no admission of currency debasement by the 'powes that be'? If this were a sitcom, I'd be laughing but the truth is making this a monumental and multigenerational tragedy.

  10. And to think I was miffed when they got rid of the three layer nachos. I know that we used to be able to roll through a taco bell and get lunch on the road for about $4, now it costs $7.
