CBS: New Poll Shows Ron Paul Moves to Top Tier

Ninety seconds is apparently enough for Ron Paul to get his message out. Even CBS can't mess with the latest news. Here is their headline:
New poll shows 4-way tie in Iowa as Ron Paul moves to top tier
CBS details:
The Iowa caucuses are just seven weeks away, but Republican voters in the nation's first presidential nominating state seem as torn as ever over the GOP field.

A new Bloomberg poll of likely caucus participants shows a four-way tie in Iowa, with Rep. Ron Paul joining Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Herman Cain in the top tier of candidates. Underscoring the uncertainty in the race, 60 percent of respondents said they could be persuaded to back someone other than their first choice for the nomination.

The poll, conducted November 10 - 12 by the West Des Moines-based firm Selzer & Co, shows Cain in the lead with 20 percent, while Paul comes in at 19 percent. Romney wins 18 percent support, and Gingrich earns 17 percent. The margin of error is 4.4 percent

This obviously doesn't include the Ron Paul supporters who won't vote for anyone else, particularly not Romney, Gingrich, or Cain.

  2. Right after the last debate, I was thinking that maybe CBS's 90 second limitation on Ron Paul would probably be noticed by Paul supporters and make them mad as hell. It was probably an overall benefit because those sitting on the fence can now clearly see that the media is/are corrupt to its/their core.

  3. Outstanding news! Surprised we didn't see a similar headline to the one from the daily caller or whatever that neo-con site is where it listed the first, third, and fourth place finishers. Or like foxnews on the scroller at the bottom in 08 when it only listed romney for the nevada results....

  4. "Moves to top tier" What a crock! He has been first in, what, 18 polls or something?! MSM is so full of **it!

Good point, but that info really could go either way for Paul's chances. Caucus-goers might see that Paul has a shot at winning so they might all decide to throw their support behind one candidate to prevent a Ron Paul victory. Those sorts of things seem even more likely to happen at caucuses don't you think?

  6. Right now, I bet the mainstream media are trying to find a way to bring Paul down or at least stop him from gaining ground. The fight isn't over.

  7. Just skimming over some the comments on the CBS site and there's a lot of Ron Paul supporters, several defending him... very encouraging! Little talk of the other candidates.

  8. i like the mainstream take on the poll:
"hey everybody look at newt gingrich!!"

  9. Ah grasshopper,

As someone with a much greater understanding of the political process than my own poor ability pointed out; if Thomas Jefferson were running today, in this election, how many of us would recognize, understand, and support his candidacy?

And yet here we have this great gift in Dr Paul - so clear, so uncluttered, so directed, so un-compromised , so pure. A septuagenerian, whose intellect, delivery, clarity and experience so outshines the lackluster field surrounding him that it simply takes your breath away. Any question as to why people respond so positively to his message? Ninety seconds is more than enough. We all know the truth when we see it, and Dr. Paul is the real deal.

He is the only candidate that actually knows how to lead us out of this mess and has articulated his plan. The groups that oppose this plan do so because they are fully vested in the status quo and are protecting their own special interests. The harder they try to muzzle the good doctor the wider his message spreads. They are learning how ineffective their propaganda machine has become. All the talking heads and op-eds are laughable - "Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury signifying nothing". — Macbeth (Act 5, Scene 5, lines 17-28)

The world is waking up and seeing this assembly of buffoons for exactly what they are. Look closely into their eyes and see the looks of confusion, lack of comprehension, and outright terror as they watch Dr. Paul destroy them in less than a minute. Such is the power of TRUTH.

Be of good cheer grasshopper, something wonderful is about to happen...

  10. But did you see the CBS evening news? They showed the poll, and then had pictures of Cain, Romney, Newt and PERY, lol. They then spent a couple of minutes taking about Cain and Newt.

  11. Faux News had a poll yesterday where they showed Gingrich out front alone, and then talked about a few others - gave Paul the usual "13th floor in a hotel" treatment. As the media arm of the Republican party, Fox is worse than anyone in their Ron Paul dissing. I mean, they are simply embarrassing to watch; even as bad as the others are, they are the worst.

  12. Think about it! Ron Paul took his shot and hit the bullseye the first and only chance he had during the debacle. Limiting him to 90 seconds came out to be a benefit to him. The rest of the time provided an insight to how inept the others were. The only other candidate who showed any possibilities was Michelle Bachman, who, teamed up with Ron Paul, would make a formidible opporent to Obama and crew.

  13. Who paid for this poll?

  14. Ron Paul is not my first choice, but I am also speaking up about how the media have lied and cheated unfairly, regarding his candidacy. And look how they are trying to destroy Herman Cain and Michele Bachmann. They want you to be left with only Progressive RINO's.

  15. Ron Paul is a champion of the 99% and the only hope to beat Obama. Ron Paul or no one at all!

  16. HOW ABOUT A NON-BIASED POLL TO DETERMINE HOW THE VOTING PUBLIC RATES THE POLITICAL PRESS, BOTH TV AND PRINT? IT APPEARS TO ME THE PRESS WOULD COME IN SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER THAN CONGRESS INSOFAR AS THEIR PERCEIVED INTEGRITY AND PROFESSIONALISM.

  17. The problem with having such a wide field of candidates is that we are all so sick of what we have in office now anyone with the leadership to defend their initial thoughts and with even basic understanding of finance is an improvement. Ron Paul tells it like it is and his understanding of money and creation of money far exceeds the commonly acclaimed "experts". If he is not elected, I certainly hope that someone in DC starts listening to his financial advice.

  18. While I do not have a horse in your 2012 race,as an outsider from Canada, I believe that Ron Paul is the only sane & reasonably intelligent one of the GOP candidates (Mitt is too shady). Having said that, I do not agree with all he says, and if I could vote it would probably be to re-elect Obama. Nevertheless, even Paul will not lessen the mass unemployment,
millions on food-stamps & without appropriate healthcare, improve education standards overnight, help millions kicked out of their homes, because your political system ( just like Canada's & Europe's) is far too corrupt. But, he might improve your security & debt by shutting down many of your military basis around the world. Regrettably, he ain't got a hope; there is just too much money at stake for all the crooks involved, making billions.

  21. Ron Paul is the ONLY choice if you are interested in true CHANGE, not what all of the other R's and all of the D's TALK about. He is the only candidate capable of leading this country out of the darkest time we have known.

  24. Ron Paul 2012. Otherwise, I am permanently leaving the USSA. I'm ready to leave now, and the only thing that can stop me is Ron Paul winning.

  25. Don't forget, after the last debate, they closed the polls after 25 min. showing RON PAUL ahead by 40something % with Newt showing 13%, The media CLOSED THE POLLS with Ron Paul AHEAD. The guy is a class act. He IS the true statesman we have been waiting for. I sure hope this doesn't turn out that the American public is either to stupid to see what he represents or they want another Americon Idol for president. How about a guy that knows his schtick and walks his talk. Last month, I gave him what was left of my debit card acct. It wasn't much but I will do it again. The powers that be are watching him.Just pray they don't do something evil to him, Rand or that family. Want to start a fullblown revo-lution. Better make damned sure they don't harm a hair on his head because....HE DA MANNNN.

  26. I voted third party last time (for Chuck Baldwin, Constitution Party Candidate) and will this time as well if the Republitards put up anyone other than Ron Paul.

The Republican cheerleaders, Ann Colter, just don't get it.

  27. Ron Paul and Jesse Ventura would make a nice ticket, imo. Romney is a Big Pharma shill just like Perry. I have been supporting Ron Paul financially and am so glad that he is no longer suppressible by the presstitutes.

    ReplyDelete
  28. It is between Romney and Paul. How can you vote for Cain? He has no clue on foreign affairs. How can you vote for Gingrich? He is part of the most corrupt debacle (fannie mae) in the finance industry.

  29. If Ron Paul wins the GOP nomination, what other GOP person could be his running mate? Outside of Rand Paul, finding any other like-minded candidate looks pretty difficult.

Dr. Ron Paul's running mate? Not to worry. 'Cause DA MANNNN will find da way. Maybe Gary Johnson, maybe Doug Casey, maybe Robert Wenzel, who knows?
I just hope the folks in the Paul camp have a plan to counter the existing establishment who would attempt to stifle his plans (before and after the election). If/when Dr. Paul gains office, he may have to move cautiously, to take out the bureaucratic opposition first. And I hope he is ruthless (not in Caesar mode, but effectively neutralizing the danger).

  31. Ron Paul will be the next President of the United States of America

because like Apple, Martin Luther King and the Wright Brothers...they believed

and he inspires us to believe .....AGAIN...

in the ideal of the Republic

    freedom - liberty - truth

But here is more evidence the MSM jaundices the Paul message:

"The ads highlight Mr. Paul’s message ... and conveniently avoid his isolationist foreign policy,"

Dr. Paul is not advocating isolationism. He is advocating non-interventionism. The Conventional Stupidity is that the US government must play moral cop with the big stick for the entire world. One reason why this country has dug itself into a hole. They don't understand how Dr. Paul is the only candidate running besides Gary Johnson with a big enough shovel to dig us out.

  33. Don't you people realize a vote for any 3rd party candidate is a vote for obumer! ANY one of the GOP candidates would be better than obumer. If Paul gets the nomination, great, if not, whoever does get the nomination needs our support! The fate of the country depends on our support for whoever that person is. Don't be fooled into voting for a 3rd party, doing so insures re-election of obumer.
