Filene’s Basement Files for Bankruptcy

Discount retailer Filene’s Basement and its parent corporation Syms Corp. filed for bankruptcy protection today. The chain will be liquidated.

All 46 of its stores will close by January.

One of my favorite stores. I bought a couple of shirts there just this morning.

    Robert, one of your recurring themes has been that the economy is recovering despite the bearishness of the perma-bears. How does this fit within that narrative?
