Ron Paul, Too Big To Ignore

Mainstream media can't ignore Ron Paul anymore. The momentum is too big. Check out these recent headlines.
“Ron Paul is for real in Iowa. Seriously.” (Washington Post)
“Niche Voters Giving Paul Momentum in Iowa Polls” (New York Times)
“Ron Paul’s 19 percent in Iowa may indicate a path to the nomination” (Daily Caller)
“GOP outsider Ron Paul gaining traction in Iowa” (Associated Press)
“Ron Paul And Libertarians Can't Be Discounted” (Forbes)
And then, this morning, there is this from The Drudge Report:

  1. I noticed in the debate last night that Santorum started one of his answers with "I agree with Ron Paul." Then he made some stupid pro-empire argument that doesn't agree with Ron Paul at all.

It suggests that Santorum's campaign staff is looking at focus groups full of people saying "I agree with Ron Paul."

  3. Robert,

I have also noticed that the conservatives on the radio in LA (Prager, Medved and even their fill in hosts) are ramping up the rhetoric against Ron Paul.

More talk this week of his lack of understanding Foreign Policy.

They would not discuss him if he wasn't a threat to the establishment.

  4. I noted that about Santorum, too! Ron Paul's eyes bugged out when Santorum said "I agree with Ron Paul...we're not fighting against terrorist, we're fighting against Muslims!" typical neocon

  5. I remain so very skeptical of the MSM. RP is still given a far lower priority in most of my MSM news feeds this morning. However it is nice to see Drudge Report headline him.

"I agree with Ron Paul...Vote for Hillary Clinton"

  7. Drudge has always been pro Ron Paul. He is always putting up stories about Paul and has been for years when he could easily ignore him like the rest of the media.

  8. Glenn Beck said Ron Paul's followers were anti-semitic. Where do they come up with these whoppers? Is it because Paul won't say 'all options are on the table' against Iran? .. or, shudder, may even send them an ambassador? LOL

  9. Too big to ignore? David Gergen seems to think so (much to Gloria Borger's chagrin, dismay and disbelief that Gergen actually said it!).

    Lol!

  10. Klaos and Anon 10:50,

I actually pointed out what you're saying while watching the debate live (halfway through):
    http://www.economicpolicyjournal.com/2011/11/new-poll-shows-ron-paul-in-first-place.html

I don't mean to toot my own horn, but if you read my comment in the link then you'll see that I was on the money with regard to speaking time (Romney, Perry and Gingrich). Here are the details of that:
    http://www.dawnoftheweak.com/2011/11/cnn-republican-debate-11-22-11-wolf.html

I was sitting there with a stopwatch, it was just obvious.

I have to admit that CNN came through when compared to the other debates. I am not saying this because I support RP, I am saying this because everybody on the stage got a decent and fair amount of time. Compared to other debates this one was almost balanced. Though, I still think that when a candidate addresses another candidate, then the addressee should always be allowed to respond (CNN didn't entirely come through in this respect).
