Carlyle Group Head Jumps in On the "End of Capitalism as We Know It" Discussion

Carlyle's David Rubinstein got the memo (that is if he didn't write it in the first place). HuffPo reports on Rubinstein at the World Economic Forum in Davos:
David Rubenstein, the co-founder and managing director of asset management firm Carlyle Group, leaders must work fast to overcome the current crisis or else different models of capitalism, such as the form practiced in China, may win the day.

"As a result of this recession, that's lasted longer than anyone predicted and will probably go on for a number more years ... we're gonna have a lot of economic disparities," said Rubenstein.

"We've got to work through these problems, if we don't do in 3 or 4 years ... the game will be over for the type of capitalism that many of us have lived through and thought was the best type," he added.
The China model? That's that big blob that is about to crash.

I hope that was an opening line joke by Rubinstein, though, I fear not.

Also Sharan Burrow, the general secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, said that capitalism has lost its "moral compass" and needed to be "reset."

Even the accountants were dissing capitalism. The CEO of accounting giant Deloitte, Joe Echevarria, talked about developing "compassionate capitalism."

"You're going to have to deal with regulation – balancing the need to protect society along with stifling growth," he told The Associated Press in an interview. "I think that has to manifest itself through the choices that governments and businesses make."

Mark Penn, global CEO of the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller, told AP "the whole crisis has raised larger questions about how is capitalism working, how do you redefine fairness in the 21st century?"

Folks, the elitist bastards are making their move. They want to regulate and control everything.

  1. Leaders must work fast?

The type of capitalism we're used to?

Good riddance to the capitalism we're used to! This crazy type of crony capitalism was put in place by the so-called leaders! It is *their system* that is failing.

And they think they can turn up the heat (i.e., put their system on steroids).

    But what if they can't?

    What if *actual* Capitalism emerges?

The hardworking leaders may be in for a surprise to see what that entails.

    Thomas Nixon Carver explained it:

“In the absence of force, peace and liberty simply exist; they do not have to be created or supported…In the absence of force, capitalism automatically exists in the same sense that peace and liberty automatically exist.”

  2. So, when do I get my fair share from the Carlyle Group and all the other parasites that made money off the government? I won't hold my breath.

  3. Fucking union idiot - capitalism does not have a moral compass. People do!

If the elitists win then we have 20-30 years of grinding nil to low growth, high unemployment and excess capacity. A generation of people will suffer.

    1. That is exactly what they want.
These fucking animals want to own us.
And they are looking to cull billions of tax livestock from their tax herds.

  4. Yep, they're going for the big push, both economically and politically.

  5. No matter what the Rubensteins, Deloittes and Penns come out on top. Trust this crew as far as you can throw their billions in gold.

  6. Davos is about totalitarianism, Larry Fink's favored "market environment."
