U.S. Weighs Expanded Military Presence in the Philippines

The leaders of the U.S. Empire are like the energizer bunny, they just don't stop.

WaPo reports that the Obama administration is considering significantly expanding the U.S. military presence in the Philippines, two decades after the island nation evicted American forces from their biggest base in the Pacific. Such an expansion would be the latest in a series of strategic moves aimed at surrounding China.

Someday a book will be written about the nutjob who wrote up the plan for the U.S. to control the world (as the country declines domestically).

Note to Obama: One of the key reasons the deficit isn't worse is because China has bought up a trillion dollars plus of the debt and helped keep US interest rates low. Do you really want to piss these people off?

  1. Only in the convoluted minds of those that preach "American exceptionalism" can the creditor be seen as having a dependency position.

  2. Two groups control Washington.

The first group is import businesses and globalist banks who wants to claim that government owned or mercantilist businesses in China are "free market" so its all right to have unrestricted trade with them and give them trillions of dollars

The second group is the Military Industrial Complex who look at the trillions of dollars that China has as a threat which justifies spending trillions of US taxpayer money to defend against.

Since both groups are making lots of money on these two polices the US government follows along even though its contradictory. If they are just free marketers who want to trade why do we need to spend trillions on “defense’, if they are really dangerous to us why are we engage in “free trade” which gives the Chinese trillions of dollars. Nobody in politics will ask these questions because the people with power are happy to continue the contradictory policy since they get paid.

  6. Maybe the neocons (and their liberal globalist fellow evil twins) need to read up on the Suez Crisis of the late fifties. For those who only know history from The History Channel, that was when the French and Brits conspired with Israel (conspiracy fact not theory) to seize the Suez Canal after Nasser nationalized it. He thought that as it ran through Egypt it was under Egyptian soverignty. Anyhow Ike didn't like the has been ex-superpowers rattling sabres without permission and against his "even handed" policy vis a vis Arab / Israeli disputes (there were Republicans who weren't Israeli Firsters before Ron Paul). Anyhow Ike let it be known that bond raising by London and Paris in New York would not be viewed kindly. The Anglo-French "peacekeepers" were home with their tail between their legs within two weeks. Neither power would ever again conduct warlike foreign policy without a green light from Uncle Sam from then on.

We should add a third rule to the iron laws of warfare. Don't invade Russia in winter. Don't think you can win a land war in Asia. And don't play Empire without permission from your creditors.
