Very Bizarre: Secret Service Bans Member of Dallas Mavericks from Visiting the White House

The NBA Championship team year after year gets invited to the White House. It's all part of White House propaganda, regardless of the president. To his credit, as best as I can recall, Michael Jordan would always catch a cold on the day of these planned visits and not show. He won a lot of championships, so there were lots of colds.

But Delonte West is being banned from the White House because he has a 2009 gun charge against him. LOL. Does the SS think he is going to come packin heat to the White House and that they somehow wouldn't be able to detect it?

West is originally from D.C. and still lives there in the off season and says, "I'm the president of my house."

  1. Wow, I didn't know that about Michael Jordan. He gets a +1 from me.

  2. I did some research into this question a couple of years ago.

It is my understanding that if you are convicted of a felony, the SS will bar you from entering the White House.

I don't know if the POTUS can override this.

  3. I guess they view anyone who has attempted to keep and bear arms, in accordance with the 2nd amendment to the U.S. Constitution, as a danger to them.

  4. First of all, have you *seen* Delonte West? Would you want him in your house?

Second of all, he wasn't on the championship team. He joined the Mavericks last month.
