Lew Defends Obama’s Spending Plan

Naturally, on total Keynesian grounds and the money gets handed out to crony capitalists. And, of course, the "cuts' are all planned for way in the future. WaPo reports:
White House Chief of Staff Jacob J. Lew on Sunday dismissed Republican criticism of President Obama’s latest spending plan, arguing that it charts a long-term strategy for tackling the national debt while offering a short-term boost to the recovering economy.

The budget request, due on Capitol Hill on Monday, calls for spending $3.8 trillion in 2013, according to sources with knowledge of the document, including fresh increases for roads, infrastructure, manufacturing and education, as well as a year-long extension of emergency unemployment benefits and a temporary payroll tax holiday.

  1. Jesus, Bob. You scared me.

"Lew" means someone completely different, to the demographic that, for instance, reads Bob Wenzel. I thought I got sucked into an alternate reality.

    1. Exactly! This is the second or third time that Bob's thrown me for a loop, each time a breathed a sigh of relief once I saw which "Lew" he was talking about.

  2. Haha, every time I see you write about "Lew" I expect a post about Lew Rockwell, so naturally when I saw this title, I thought Rockwell had either fallen to the dark side or Obama had decided to enact Ron Paul's budget.

  3. This isn't a budget, it's a multi-trillion dollar vote-buying scheme. And notice that all of the so-called cuts occur after he leaves office - assuming the American people are stupid enough to give him four more years to destroy what's left of America.

In a better world, arguments like this could only be pulled on young teenagers first starting to learn about politics.
