Occupy D.C.: Officer Hit in Face with Brick by Protester

A police officer was hit in the face with a brick Saturday in a show-down between Occupy D.C. protesters and U.S. Park Police.

The officer suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.

The protester who allegedly threw the brick was charged with assault on a police officer and assault with a deadly weapon.

One lone protester wandered from the crowd to taunt about a half-dozen police who were on horseback. He called the police who were with the U.S. Park police, "Tree police" and shouted in front of them, "What is this, animal farm? We have pigs on top of horses."

  1. LOL... okay, funny line from the protester, but he definitely took his life in his hands with that snark. I'm not sure I'da done the same.

And a brick to the face? That's a GREAT way to change people's hearts about your movement.

  2. I wouldn't be surprised to learn that the "protester" was a police plant. They've been caught doing it plenty of other times, so it seems reasonable to be suspicious.
