    1. We're a movement focused on radical change, not on cheering Republican hybrids. Even tactically, Rand botched it.

  2. It's real shame that Rand did that. The reality is that nobody will ever gives shit about Rand if he is not Ron's son.

  3. I don't know why so many in our movement are so ancy to start Fighting with each other. I'm all about principle but shouldn't we stick together a bit better if we want to make a real shot at changing things?
I think Jack Hunter is a great part of our movement. And sure I just about threw up when I heard that Rand endorsed Romney but Rand is still the best senator out there.
We are making good strides. I guess I'm just saying...at this point... Beggars can't be choosers.

    1. Jack Hunter, in 2010 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-5bbH1x2fE):

"If Mitt Romney becomes the Republican's presidential nominee in 2012, then conservatives will need to find a new party."

      Jack Hunter, in 2012 (www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERI52UndhE4):

"Why Rand was right to endorse Romney"

Maybe that's why Hunter is attracting so much criticism.

  4. Rand Paul is out because he endorsed Mitt Romney at the wrong time. Gary Johnson is out because he hasn't read Von Mises. Mike Lee is surely out because he's a pale version of Rand Paul. The liberty movement is going to take over the country as soon as we can find a candidate. But who's going to be the candidate? We're beginning to learn the meaning of "fringe movement." The liberty movement is going nowhere if we continue to marginalize ourselves. If your position is nothing other than a gigantic collection of litmus tests, you're going to discover that hardly anyone is going to meet the standard of perfection that we have set. Ron Paul was in the enviable position of having been able to define the movement. No successor will have that advantage, but frankly, I think Ron Paul has a few nutty ideas. He fails my standard of perfection, but I still support him. If people in the liberty movement insist upon reading people out of the movement for deviancy on minor issues, the movement itself will collapse.

Somehow Justin Raimundo could find the flexibility to denounce Chuck Hagel for not runing for president against Ron Paul in 2008 even though Hagel had voted for the Iraq War and had the best record in the Senate for supporting Bush's domestic programs. If Hagel was a better option than Ron Paul, what the hell is so bad about Rand? Or is it a matter of Raimundo never being able to say anything that isn't negative?

    1. Why do we need a candidate to do anything?

The Remnant got by just fine without one all these years and in all reality isn't looking for one.

You sound like you don't even get the point of "liberty."

Who cares if the system grants it to you? Who cares about the system?

      Quoth Rothbard, "So what?"

    2. I recall that the people of Sao Paulo Brazil once elected a rhinoceros as Mayor. When people get fed up enough they might do anything. But I'd prefer that we had a liberty candidate although a rhinoceros might be the next best thing. But if it doesn't matter. It doesn't matter, and why are we discussing it at all?
