In another incident at 12:45 p.m. Saturday, two men were on a porch in the 4900 block of West Washington in Austin when a gunman approached them and opened fire, striking both men in the chest, police said.
Jamel Shepard, 39, who lived at the home, was dead at the scene, authorities said. Darnell Walker, 55, of the 7100 block of South Euclid, was also killed.
Earlier Saturday, at 2:43 a.m., police found John Kouzios, 33, of the 3000 block of South Kedvale, dead and Jose Galvin, 42, critically wounded after they were shot multiple times in a vehicle that hit a tree in the 2500 block of South Kildare, authorities said.
Galvin, of the 4200 block of West 26th Street, was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he later died, the medical examiner’s office said.
At 2:30 a.m., William Cook, 19, was shot in the chest in his home in the 6200 block of South Talman, the medical examiner’s office said.
At 8:15 p.m. Friday in the 1300 block of West 113th Place, a 16-year-old boy was shot in the right forearm, police said. The boy was taken in stable condition to Metro South Medical Center in Blue Island.
At 9:53 p.m., a 15-year-old boy was shot in the left buttock in the Pullman neighborhood. The teen and another person were standing on the sidewalk in the 12100 block of South Emerald when a light-colored vehicle passed by and shots were fired, police said.
That would be a slow day down here in Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico which has a much smaller population than Chicago.

So far this year there have been 671 murders in that state. Assuming the number will be doubled for the year, that makes 1342 for a figure of 48.5 murders per 100,000.
Compare that with Illinois that has a population of 12,830,000 and had 706 murders in 2010 for a figure of 5.5 murders per 100,000. That's 8 times fewer murders adjusted for population.
Nevada has almost exactly the same population as Sinaloa and is slightly worse than Illinois at 5.9 murders per 100,000.
Sinaloa is not the most violent state. I believe Chihuahua (which includes the border city of Juarez) is more violent than Sinaloa (where I live for a short time longer).
This is what the drug war has wrought.
Obama says "Aren't you glad that we forced the drug trade out of the Carabian and into Mexico, then armed the drug lords for you? Aren't you glad that we make it illegal to put substances in your own body thus creating a massive black market not subject to the rule of law thus endangering every Mexican?"
DeleteSeriously, it's irrelevant what the rest of the world is doing and how bad it is. What is relevant is the horrors that hypocrite socialists are forcing on their own people in the United States.
It's sad what the United States is doing to Mexico, but look at the reports above. They're almost certainly all drug related. We're doing it to ourselves too and it's sad.
