Very smart and honest man. I wonder how frank he would be if he didn't work for the Hoover Institution. Gary North has revealed that Sowell was commanding $10,000 for private speaking engagements back in the 1980s. A nice sum back then. Back then, North sent him a $3000 check to speak and he politely turned him down. Few people can publish and speak the way Sowell does and make a good living. Sowell certainly would not make that kind of pay teaching undergraduates about free-market economics and politics.
I really don't think Obama is as bad as FDR. The New Deal, Great Depression, 12 years in office, WWII, gold confiscation. I mean that's a pretty high bar.
