Pussy Riot Verdict Tomorrow

Three members of thecurious Russian punk rock band, Pussy Riot, which seems to have adopted the methods of CIA provocateur consultant Gene Sharp, will hear the verdict in the case against them, in court on Friday.

The band staged performance of an anti-Putin song, Holy Shit, inside Moscow’s Cathedral of Christ the Savior.

NYT reports that Russian authorities announced on Thursday that bodyguards have been assigned to protect the judge presiding over the trial.

In its report on the story, NYT posted a link to the below Putin performance, as an indication that Putin's taste in music is far from songs such as Holy Shit. This Putin performance occurred at a benefit concert in St. Petersburg in 2009.

  1. All political considerations aside, I'm surprised someone didn't knock them out with a candelabra out of fear for their own saftey. That is some pretty freakish behavior.

  2. In other news it is amazing that the world has changed to the point where when someone does NOT have free speech in Russia everyone acts shocked and surprised. 25 years ago everyone would have just assumed they would have no right and would be jailed for speaking out.
