RNC's Tribute Film to Ron Paul

Ugh, politicians praising Ron Paul.

  1. This is kind of strange. They are praising him for cutting a path that they view is the right path and yet they tell us he stands alone. WTF does that say about them and the path they continue to stay on? I know I am being over analytical and that logic is not something to be applied to the mainstream element of our two political parties, but come on!

  2. Yuck. No wonder Ron Paul left Tampa.

  3. This is really awkward. It's like the Chinese government praising von Mises or something. The RNC is so pathetic. Wait a second... Didn't Paul already leave the convention?

  4. Not a bad video really, despite there not being a single word about his consistent anti-war, anti-fascist state views. Those are the views that garnered him the attention in the 2008 race, and ultimately kicked off the modern-day Paul-inspired, libertarian revolution. Not that I'm surprised that they omitted those views...I'm just shocked the video didn't have a more don't-let-the-door-hit-you-on-the-way-out tone.

  5. The video was created by the Paul campaign (vetted by the RNC), of course it wasn't going to be bitter.

  6. I don't blame RP for leaving. The tribute video is more about the Republicans gaining libertarian voters than it is about celebrating Ron Paul, and of course the video totally side-steps the foreign policy and civil liberties issues that are so much a part of what Ron Paul & Co. stand for. Still, for what it's worth, it isn't badly made. Maybe in four or eight years time it will be less nauseating to watch.

  7. Every single one of those clips of him speaking he is arguing against other Republicans.

  8. Unbelievably cynical that they think this "tribute" video will give us all political amnesia at the way he's been treated and his delegates have been treated. The way WE'VE been treated, real conservatives and real libertarians. And of course no specifics; nothing on central banking, nothing on an actually conservative Taftian foreign policy, just warm fuzziness designed to lull you into forgiveness and entice you to pull the R lever. But pols were born to lie, they've been doing it since time of the Greeks; it's the disingenuous, slimey neoconservatives fancying themselves intellectuals who are even worse-over at NRO, two of the Foreign Policy Initiative neos are given a forum to whine that even THIS LITTLE MODEST VIDEO was apparently too much, how awful it is that he hasn't been driven from the party by pitchfork-weilding mobs. (Hired mobs, presumably, since we all know neos aren't exactly known for doing their own fighting) When oh when, whines Jamie Fly and his ilk, can we get back to the crucial "conservative" task of provoking and promoting global democratic revolution around planet Earth?

  9. This was nothing but a recruiting video to attempt to entice Paul supporters to side with 'MITTLER.' It ain't gonna happen. The fact that the smarmy GOP would pull such a stunt after ordering its minions to negate Ron Paul's legitimate delegate wins across the country (not to mention the utterly shameful treatment metted out to Ron over these last 5-6 years by the GOP)clearly shows what a bag of filth that failed and crumbling organization has become.

  10. This really should be taken as a huge victory for the liberty movement and Ron Paul. What happened four years ago at the last neo-con convention? The GOP sure wasn't trying to appear to kiss up to ron paul and honor him -- though we all know they weren't behind the scenes, they are dumb enough to think most people won't know this -- with a video like this. If Ron Paul and the liberty movement were not extremely powerful and growing in popularity with ideas and converts every day, this would not be taking place.

The Evil Empire is showing its first signs of weakness. No wonder why Ron was smiling so big as he did his victory laps around the convention floor.

  11. Of course they picked the worst shot of Paul in the whole video to be the thumbnail in this "tribute."
