Interesting... I did not consider the labor union angle of keeping kids in govt school the reduce competition. But it would only provide benefit in the few years after the laws were put in place to keep kids in school longer. Aft that kids are entering at the same rate as before.

ReplyDeleteTrue, but the wage competition from younger workers is still a factor, albeit moderated by (also union pushed) minimum wage laws.
