Jesse Benton: "I absolutely love all of Dr. Paul's supporters"

Jesse Benton has given an interview to the Keynesian, gold-hating,  Business Insider, on his new role as campaign head for Senator Mitch McConnell. McConnell is a total statist, who regularly takes positions against liberty.

In August 2007, the creep McConnell introduced the Protect America Act of 2007, which allows the National Security Agency to monitor certain telephone and electronic communications  inside and outside the United States without obtaining a warrant.

On April 21, 2009, McConnell delivered a blistering speech to the Senate criticizing United States President Barack Obama's then-plans to close the Guantanamo.

McConnell voted for the initial War in Iraq, has supported the "troop surge", and opposed a timetable for withdrawal from the country.

During the BI interview this exchange took place:
BI: So if you had the chance to address the Ron Paul Universe, how would you address any criticism that you have sold out Ron Paul to take a position with the GOP Establishment?
Benton: First of all, I absolutely love all of Dr. Paul's supporters. I admire every single one of them for the different things that they bring to the table.
My position is a bit different — I believe that everyone should pursue their passions, and be where they can best make a difference. Where I believe I can make a difference is to help bring the voice of the Liberty Movement and the voice of the Tea Party into a governing coalition. Some people want to work outside of the system, some people want to be 100% rigid — I view what I want to do is try to work with people who want to take our ideas seriously. I want to try to get as many of our ideas as I can included in the solution.

  2. Benton has no ideas. It's been shown that he's a political operative. Screw off Jesse I'm not eating the shit you're shoveling.

    1. All any pro-liberty candidate who is looking to unseat McConnell has to say to mobilize the base is,

"This campaign is run by the man who prevented Ron Paul from being president."

      And watch what happens.

  4. I think the things Benton has done to sabotage Ron Paul have been deplorable. However, I still think there is a possibility that he is joining the McConnell campaign in order to sabotage it similarly. Which would be a good thing.

Ron Paul might have secretly not wanted to be President, knowing what kind of economic hell is coming in the next four years; best to have Obama in the driver's seat for that one.

I have though about Benton, maybe he is like the protagonist of Vonnegut's novel, "Mother Night". Or, maybe he is really a self-serving jerk. It will be several years before we know for sure.

lol...Ol' "Bodyarmor Benton" sure does tell whoppers.

I mean come on, if you got to a Ron Paul event odds are that you'll run into at least 1 out of 10 people there that you probably wouldn't have a beer with...it's just human nature.

Then again, Benton seems to have proven himself a robot at times so maybe human nature doesn't apply. :)

  9. I agree with the critics of Benton regarding Benton's leadership of the Ron Paul campaign. Benton was all too willing to accommodate Romney and the Republican establishment and water-down the Ron Paul agenda, particularly regarding foreign policy and civil liberties where there were clear differences with the mainstream of the party.

However, regardless of one's views of Benton's management of the Ron Paul campaign, Benton's involvement with the McConnell campaign is an altogether different issue. If anything, I see it as a positive development. McConnell is a pretty powerful Republican, and in this hiring he seems to be signaling his openness to libertarian ideas. And also, generally speaking, it is another sign of the growing influence of libertarianism in the party. Benton may not be right individual to say lead the Ron Paul campaign or Campaign for Liberty, but let's not make him out to be the devil either. His involvement with McConnell could well work for the best.

Nope. It means he's deathly afraid of the people who would not in a million years vote for him but would travel across the country in the winter for Ron Paul.

  12. What Benton really meant:
"I absolutely love all of Dr. Paul's supporters, except Tom Woods, Adam Kokesh, everyone that went to the P.A.U.L. Fest, everyone that will not vote for Mitt....ah, who am I kidding, they are all c__suckers! Seriously, though, folks, does anyone know if Mitch has any single granddaughters?"

    1. Haha, you stole my thunder. I was gonna say that if Mitch had any single granddaughters, Jesse'd be all over that.

And how can you mistreat Tom Woods? He may be one of the nicest guys ever born. (I don't know him personally)

  14. Justin Raimondo was right all along about him being a plant and the Ron Paul campaign being infiltrated by the GOP. I am sure Paul realized this at some point, but then was faced with the decision to fire his granddaughter's husband or to just do his best in the debates and media appearances to educate the public while refusing to compromise on his views and positions.

For anyone criticizing Ron, ask yourself what you would have done. It is a lot easier to answer that when you don't actually have grandkids -- I think paul also knew that deep down that they would never let him win anyway. Look at all of the fraud that took place out in the open at conventions! What do you think they would have done had Paul actually come close to winning?
