More agitation of Muslims.
A provocative ad that equates some Muslim radicals with savages is set to go up next week in the New York City subway system, reports NyPo.
Pamela Geller ,who runs the blog Atlas Shrugs, won a court order to post the ad in 10 subway stations on Monday. It reads, "In any war between the civilized man and the savage, support the civilized man. Support Israel. Defeat Jihad." Geller is putting the ads up in partnership with Robert Spencer.
Last year, all of the simultaneous revolutions in the MENA region. This week, at least three different agitations. Somehow we should believe this is all a coincidence.

"We" are doing a great job of pissing off the entire world. If I were the judge, I would have told her that should could post the signs on her own damn property, not invite more cause to search innocent citizens in public places.

ReplyDeleteWe should be very clear to not knock these ads because they might agitate violence in savages, but because their subversive message is that 'we' should give more military aid to Israel. And, obviously, because the people agitating violence might have their own nefarious motives.

I apologize for my extrapolation, but this reminds me of the great Twilight Zone episode, "The Shelter," where civilized, upper-middle-class neighbors claw at each other to live (violating property rights), when they fear the impending doom of a Soviet missile.
ReplyDeleteFor any younger readers unfamiliar with this anthology, it is well worth it. A nice thought provoking break from the garbage that is peddled as entertainment.
To deny that Islam preaches jihad and that its adherents hate us and make war on us on that basis is to deny reality. Yes, there is blowback, from decades of inarticulately waged war and poorly executed tactics. But jihad is not all about blowback. And libertarians who argue as if that is true do us all a disservice. Geller, whatever her flaws, is a hero for continually exposing these savages AS savages. Read her column and see. And her words are protected 100% by the 2nd Amendment. That you, Wenzel, are criticizing her rather than defending absolutely her right to say what she wants is despicable.

It is basically the exact opposite ideology of any libertarian, or it should be. IF they (the barbarous islamists) really do hate us for only our foreign policy than any stupid peripheral shit like this shouldn't bother them. No, Geller is no idiot, and you can argue as you want that she's a shill for statist Israel, but the people of Israel are still essentially an embodiment of reason and civilization, in contrast to their neighbors. As to the rest of your points, it is remarkable how few libertarians are willing to promote these ideas. Wenzel and other libertarians should instead be arguing that every civilized man on the planet needs to create and publish the most insulting image of Mohammed they can muster. Islam is totalitarianism and it must be defeated as such. Yet Wenzel advocates remaining silent. That's exactly what Germany's Jews did while Hitler took over.

What's disgusting and hypocritical is to take all these "events" in the Middle East at face value. There are so many agendas at play and the "news" coming out of their is so manipulated and airbrushed, no one really has any clue about what is happening and why. And then to equivocate so as to act like Islam/Islamism is a GREATER threat to our freedoms and prosperity when we have a bunch of homegrown ideological terrorists doing a damn good job of getting rid of both without any help from the Muzzies.

Taylor, jihad is not simply a function of conspiracies. There may be conspiracies that are exploiting the existence of jihadists, stirring up violence and political unrest, etc. (I have no doubt there are, the latest "movie" being an example). Islamic Jihad has been around for centuries. But don't lose sight of the fundamentally totalitarian ideas of Islam. THAT is precisely why jihadists haven't gone after the Chinese. They are birds of a feather. The atheism of the Chinese has no real significance when the fundamental tenets of the ideology are totalitarian in nature and not religious. Religion is the sheep's clothing in which the wolf is dressed -- and it is that that allows naive observers in the West to say "religion is about love" or "Islam is about peace." Islam and Chinese Communism are BOTH about totalitarian power, and that is the reason one has little to say about the other. The ideological underpinnings matter, no matter how many opportunist meddlers are out there exploiting them.
DeleteProvactive ad? Is there anything that is not "provacative" to muslims? There are always some muslims ready to kill you if you insult Mohammed, that's why they say it's the religion of peace. I envey those Americans that are naive about islam (not that all muslims all the same, but it's easy to keep telling yourself that the one's with extreme views compose a tiny insignificant fringe group), it shows how small the minority is in America. Keep the borders closed for them and there is one problem less.
