Rand Paul to Campaign for Mitt Romney

An endorsement is one thing, but to campaign for the warmonger, friend of banksters, Romney, is moving well into the dark side.

Rand Paul, in an ABC interview said that he will soon hit the campaign trail to support  Romney,

“We are hoping to help Gov. Romney get elected,” Rand Paul told ABC News’ Jon Karl.

RP said he is working out the logistics of appearing at campaign events for Romney between now and November.

“They’ve asked me to go places and I’m happy to,” he said.

Rand also seemed satisfied with how Ron Paul delegates were treated at the RNC.

  1. I don't know what more it will take to get people to realize this guy is either extremely naive or a sell out.

  2. Rand has officially kicked dirt in the liberty movement's face with this move.

I am very much like Jeffrey Tucker in that I don't believe in a top-down approach to libertarianism. There are different aspects of libertarianism other than pure Rothbardianism, and I have no problem with libertarians who disagree or agree on certain aspects of political philosophy. I mean, it is pretty stupid for an individualist philosophy to be governed by collectivist notions.

However, with that said, it is clear that Rand isn't a libertarian and that he is a statist through and through. He tricked a few of us, but there is now no doubt that he is not a part of this movement. To any libertarian that supports this guy, just know that Joe Fetz thinks that you're a complete asshole.

  3. A case of go places for them and you'll..go places, then. However I can suggest one place he should go.

  4. If my recollection is correct, Rand Paul stated that he was not a libertarian back when he was running for the Senate. I think it was the Republican liberty movement folks that branded him a libertarian under the assumption that any son of Ron Paul would be libertarian. The sad part of all of this seems to be Ron Paul's willingness to set aside principal for Rand's political future. Now, if I can just get the clowns from c4l to stop calling me to ask for money...

    1. He isn't a libertarian, and it looks like he isn't a principled conservative either.

  5. When Rand's votes and legislation in the senate start going off base I'll start downing him. As of right now I don't see that happening.

  6. Wow, can no one understand political pragmatism? Let's all hate the most libertarian senator we have, who still the best one we got, and go back to bitching about how much our congress sucks so we can feel good about ourselves for a couple minutes. Everyone saw how the RNC treated an outsider like Ron Paul. If Rand Paul has to do some legwork for the establishment in order to get a fair shake in 2016, I'm fine with it. If he becomes president and reverts back to neocon ideals, then I'll be right with you guys asking for him to step down. The entire country won't immediately get behind all of Ron Paul's ideas, which are still viewed by many sheep as extreme, but will warm up to them in a gradual process. Most people like Paul's audit the fed and non interventionist foreign policy, but many still don't understand his views on gold and states' rights. Let's relax with all the Rand bashing for now and give him a chance before critiquing him. If anyone here is waiting for another Ron Paul to come around, it's likely to never happen because he was that special. Let's stop searching for candidates that agree with you on 100% of the issues and work our way up by rallying people around auditing the fed and bringing troops home.

    1. The only way they will not treat Rand like they did Ron was if he was no threat or they had him in their pocket. Do you think the elites would say, "Rand endorsed Mitt and campaigned with him, so go ahead and let him become president without a fight. Fair is fair he worked with us so now we need to help him." No, if Rand isn't on board with their plans they will relentlessly attack him.

  7. Rand has already show Mitt Romney to be a traitor, Romney had to promise Rand he would implement Austrian economics before Rand would campaign for him.
