Kentucky Senator Rand Paul is stepping in to the Indiana Senate race to defend Republican Richard Mourdock, who ignited a firestorm Tuesday when he said that pregnancies caused by rape are "something God intended to happen."
A top Paul advisor told Business Insider that the Senator's political action committee, RAND PAC, is making a "six-figure" media buy in Indiana and plans to go on air Friday with an ad attacking Mourdock's Democratic opponent Joe Donnelly for voting against a bill that would have blocked foreign aid to Pakistan.Mourdock supports the bogus Paul Ryan economic plan. He's a complete technocrat as far as Social Security goes. There's no chance he is going to advocate just stopping SS taxes and allowing individuals to do what they please with their money. Mourdock believes Social Security should be "reformed" to allow younger workers to invest in personalized retirement accounts, which of course will have to be parked with bankster Wall Street.
Most horrific, and I mean horrific, Mourdock spends huge amounts of time giving speeches where he promotes the myth of Abraham Lincoln as hero. He claims that last year he gave speeches at 38 different Lincoln dinners. Mourdock tells those in attendance that Lincoln "saved the country".
Note: Be very cautious around any politician who claims Lincoln "saved the country". What Lincoln did was fight a war that prevented the South from seceding from the Union and resulted in hundreds of thousands dead.
As Thomas DiLorenzo writes with regard to a Ken Burns documentary on the Civil War:
How odd that anyone would equate the killing of some 850,000 Americans (the latest estimate of "Civil War" deaths), the bombing, burning, and destruction of entire cities, the mass killing of tens of thousands of civilians, the rape, pillage and plunder of thousands more, the suspension of Habeas Corpus and imprisonment of tens of thousands of Northern civilians, the shutting down of hundreds of opposition newspapers in the North, military conscription, the daily execution of deserters (by the Lincoln regime), and the rigging of Northern elections as "civilization." And how odd that anyone would think that the secession of a state (or states), under the correct belief that the union of the founding fathers was a voluntary union, would somehow "destroy" the government in Washington..The obvious purpose of Burns’s The Civil War, as with Lincoln mythology in general, is to spread propaganda that props up state power.Never, ever put in office a man who can overlook the Lincoln atrocities. He may over look them again.
Via BI, here is the email Rand Paul is sending out to help fund this Lincoln lover.

Dear XXXXX,
The liberal and medial elite are circling the wagons around liberal Democrat Joe Donnelly in Indiana.
And they're coming after conservative candidate Richard Mourdock with guns blazing.
That's why my staff is burning the midnight oil creating a hard-hitting TV ad revealing Democrat Joe Donnelly's record for big spending.
Can I count on you to make a generous contribution of $500, $250, $100, $50, $25 - or whatever you can afford - to help get this ad up and running IMMEDIATELY?
If elected, Richard Mourdock has pledged to join me in fighting to balance the budget, repeal ObamaCare, and stop taxpayer handouts to our enemies overseas.
The Washington elite are attacking Richard Mourdock because he is a Tea Party candidate who has pledged to fight with me for conservative values in the U.S. Senate.
They're attacking him because they don't like someone who stands firm in their core beliefs and convictions.
They're attacking him because they want to keep Harry Reid as Senate Majority Leader.
And they're attacking him because he took out a member of their "good ole boys" network in the Primary.
Unfortunately, some of my colleagues backed away from helping Richard Mourdock today.
But I'm not going to turn my back on a true conservative ally.
I'll send you a copy of our TV ad tomorrow once it's finished.
But I must make the ad buy immediately, so I'm counting on you to make a generous donation right away.
XXXXX, this race could determine whether or not Harry Reid controls the U.S. Senate next year.
And our TV ad could make all the difference in this race.
That's why I hope you'll agree to make a generous contribution right away.
Any amount you can contribute - $500, $250, $100, $50 or $25 - will go directly toward our TV ad buy in Indiana.
So please, dig deep and give all you can to help counter the establishment's vicious attacks against Richard Mourdock.
In liberty,
and Paul

In Liberty and Paul. How cute.
ReplyDeleteRand sure is hitching his wagon to a bunch of losers.
Peter Schiff has endorsed him and is defending him as well.
ReplyDeleteRand actually spoke out against the payroll tax cut in 2011 or whenever it happened, so he's right with Mourdock there.
