Brooklynites Should Be Thanking the Skies that Steve Jobs Invented the iPod and iPad

At the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, a line to wait for buses into Manhattan stretched twice around the arena and commuters reported wait times of one to three hours to get on a bus.

  1. Steve Jobs invented nothing. He was a gifted marketer/salesman but nothing more. The reason why Apple's profit margins are high is because the products are over-priced status symbols, like designer clothing.

    1. Why does mentioning Steve Jobs always attract the haters? The man may not have been the engineer behind every transistor in his company's products but it's irrelevant.

The man had a gift for seeing what people wanted before they wanted it, and putting together the people who could serve that market. That's not a salesman or a marketer (though he was great at both those roles as well) but a visionary/entreprenuer. He also held people's feet to the fire to get the products built his way.

You come to a laissez faire temple and claim something is overpriced. You should know better that markets clear and for Apple they are clearing at their current price points very well.

All I can smell coming from people like you is jealousy. I wish I had even 1% of Jobs' ability, but I admire him, not hate.

  2. Thank Steve Jobs? That litigious bastard has made even non-Apple products expensive.
