Murdoch: Patraeus Resignation Very Suspicious

CIA Director David H. Petraeus has resigned.

According to WaPo, Petraeus met with President Obama on Thursday indicating that he was stepping down because of an extramarital affair. Obama accepted the resignation offer on Friday.

“After being married for over 37 years, I showed extremely poor judgment by engaging in an extramarital affair,” Petraeus said in a statement distributed to the CIA workforce on Friday. “Such behavior is unacceptable, both as a husband and as the leader of an organization such as ours. This afternoon, the President graciously accepted my resignation.”

Rupert Murdoch smells a rat:
Petraeus resignation. Timing, everything suspicious. There has to be more to this story.

UPDATER: Report that Patraeus won't appear for scheduled testimony before the Senate on Benghazi.

  1. I don't know--I could think of many good reasons for resigning without admitting to an affair that didn't happen.

  2. I'm sorry, you're CIA director and you have an extramarital affair bring you down?

Yet, Eric Holder has the president fighting congress on his behalf, claiming state secrets, etc., on the Fast and Furious scandal and he's still around (so far).

I'm with Murdoch on this. Petraeus is the king of the heap, can kill on a whim and erase the past like it never happened. He is the head of an organization that makes Orwell's 1984 look like a bedtime story.

This is way too neat and tidy. I smell Benghazi.

Remember, Patraeus is not originally a CIA guy. He's not one of them. However, Obama is.

  5. I think Benghazi is getting out of hand, and no one wants to be around when TSHTF.

  6. Seems more like the rocks tumbling down the hill were picking up speed and make everyone abandon ship. This happens with every partisan idealogue president. One just needs to go back and look at them all to see it happen.

  7. Sounds like a fall guy to redirect attention IMHO.

  8. Don't get your hopes up about a Benghazi scandal. If they can get away with Ruby Ridge, Waco and Fast & Furious then they can get away with anything. It's all being swept under the rug by Barry and the Lamestream Media Minions. Back to business as usual for The Overlords.

  9. I suspected it was over Benghazi after reading this: http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/11/petraeus-benghazi/

  10. Can someone explain why resigning absolves (is this even the correct word? was he obligated?) him from testifying?
