Judas & The Gang: Where's Our Friggin' Money?

Individuals that work for what Rothbard called "a gang of thieves writ large," get hot under the collar when they don't get their loot.

NY & NJ Politicians want to know....Where's our friggin' money?

Judas Christie

NJ Sen. Robert Menendez

NJ Sen. Frank Lautenberg

NY Governor Andrew Cuomo
"The people of our states can no long afford to wait while politicians in Washington play games."

Libertarians know that true charity comes from voluntary giving. It happens all the time after a disaster, even if it occurs across the world. Voluntary giving would most likely increase even more, and would surely have a better chance of getting to the right people, were government to get out of the way.

Once the thieves get involved, it's all political.

One of my late relatives was a part of the political class, and he explained to me as a kid how it works. He said to remember the following phrase:
"How much?...For how many?"
How much money do you need? How many votes can I get in return?

So when the politicians are asking for federal cash, their minds are surely focused on the above phrase. When they get their money, the vote buying commences, and the greasing of the palms begins.

And someone that lives in a different part of the country is coughing up the funds to finance it. What a disgrace.

Remember Rothbard:
It is easy to be conspicuously "compassionate" if others are being forced to pay the cost.
Voluntary giving...it's the neighborly, humanitarian, and moral principle to live by.

  1. Silly me. Here I thought that when you own a home you carry insurance exactly for this kind of disaster. Its becoming clear now, why do the right thing when the government will aid you regardless. If I could drop my Huricane coverage that I am paying $8000/yr on top of my normal policy premium I would. Why should I pay this when the government is going to back stop those that don't?

    1. That's "moral hazard" in a nutshell!

  2. Very nice. I believe voluntary giving is usually virtuous. Coerced or forced redistribution of wealth, not so much.

  5. Collective governance can never work unless the individual citizen is first capable of self governing. Judging from the size of Judas Christie's wasteband (sic), he is not capable of self governing. Is any one surprised that he wants more of other-people's-money.

Of course, if the American people were capable of self governing,
there would be no bloated government in DC filled with self-serving dipwads.

  6. I think back to news reports of emergency crews being turned away because they weren't union. They don't want help, they want money. Screw em!

  7. Never, EVER trust Jersey Girls like Chris. Hey Chris - Lost your conservative beliefs at re-election time? What a surprise. Never saw that coming. You talk a great game Chris. Unfortunately, you can’t walk the talk. What we have here is just another case of a self-interested politician showing his true colors. I feel really bad that I once had a modicum of respect for the newly outed Mrs. Christie. Never let a crisis go to waste, right Chris? Always play on the negligence and greed of your sheeple, right Chris? Everything is big about you except your balls. No wonder you didn’t run for potus…too self-interested and greedy to stand up when it counts. You’ll fade away just like all the other wannabees, won’t you Chris.
