Pizza Man Fights Off Attackers and Gets Pay Cut

Corporate America is so damn afraid to back-up its employees. How is this not a sign to all Pizza Hut employees: Rob me, Beat me. (Note to Chris Rossini, if you ever get attacked while blogging for EPJ, hit the dudes over the head with whatever you are carrying, or alternatively blow them away. I got your back.)

  1. I was driving through Newtown the other day, and this house had a sign outside stating "This is a Gun-Free Home."

    Brilliant.

  2. @ Anonymous Seriously? At least it's honest when stupidity outs itself. I hope it doesn't get hem hurt.

    1. If they do get hurt, it will be a great lesson for all. But at least they are doing their neighbors a favor but diverting attention to a gun-free home.

  3. I just wrote to Pizza Hut and told them unless they restore this man's job, with pay, and a bonus, that I will never buy another pizza from them, and will encourage everyone I know to do the same.

I also requested a response. Should be interesting.

  4. Way to go, Pizza Hut. I will NEVER buy anything from your stores again.

  5. I'm with Dave Narby. Unless they revoke this dangerously asinine policy I will NEVER buy anything from Pizza Hut again.

  6. Looks like it's open season.

  7. Here we see an example of a problem of a public service. Pizza Hut could carry insurance for its employees and train them to carry batons/mace/guns depending on the neighborhood, or they could pay a private security force to accompany delivery drivers into dangerous neighborhoods and charge a premium for customers in those neighborhoods. Instead, Pizza Hut offloads its responsibility to protect onto the publicly funded police and is able to wash its hands of liability, but since the protection is not geared towards defending delivery drivers, it fails. Instead, the delivery drivers must assume the real liability and Pizza Hut lowers its cost by only paying health insurance for after the fact.

Delivery drivers should stop working for Pizza Hut, and people should feel free to put social pressure on Pizza Hut to provide for the security of their employees.

    1. People who deliver for Pizza Hut likely don't have the luxury of picking and choosing jobs.

  8. Looks like Pizza Hut corporate is made up of more brainless plastic people. Now corporations want to create higher unemployment for protecting yourself.

You can't make this shit up. I'm a libertarian, and so instead of advocating offensive violence, sometimes I wish stupid/evil people would slip on banana peels and go away.

    When it's 5 against 1, your not holding a weapon. It's a lifeline.

  9. I wish I could say they must reinstate the man, or I will never buy a Pizza Hut pizza again. However, I never buy Pizza Hut products now. They make pretty much the shittiest pizza on the planet. Even Dominos is better than Pizza Hut, and that's pathetic.

  10. I'm going to get a job at Pizza Hut, tell my friends to rob me, and we'll split the take. Just don't hit me too hard, just a little bruise.

  11. I can't say I ever eat pizza from Pizza Hut, but if I am going to order a pizza, because of this I will not be buying from Pizza Hut. I will also encourage friends to do the same.

  12. I just filled out a contact form at Pizza Hut and told them a boycott is on the way from the NRA etc. unless they reverse this shit.

I've heard numerous stories of pizza delivery guys getting mugged, and I can't believe they aren't allowed to be armed. Even worse, if the company refuses to deliver to a certain neighborhood because of violence and robberies they are pilloried for being racist.

Our country is dead, it's just like a chicken with its head cut off.

  13. It depends on corporate policy. Banks instruct their employees not to resist bank robberies as it might increase their liability to lawsuits by affected parties.

  14. If I ate that garbage I would boycott Pizza Hut!

  15. Pizza from Pizza Hut is too oily anyway. And how can you even choose Pizza Hut when Dominos' garlic crust tastes like food from heaven?
