Rand Paul: Protect the White House and Capitol with Iron Domes
Senator Rand Paul Wednesday said there was "no reason" the United States shouldn't have its own version of Israel's Iron Dome to defend the homeland from missile attacks, BuzzFeed reports.
"I saw presentations of the Iron Dome and it was very impressive," Paul said in a conference call with reporters fresh off a weeklong trip to Israel and Jordan. Paul added that he is "absolutely in favor of it."
"There's no reason why our White House, our Capitol, and major cities shouldn't have missile defense," Paul said, after referencing the 9/11 attacks.

Rand obviously doesn't understand that the best "iron dome" for protection might be a "MYOB" foreign policy.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, Rand probably has intimate knowledge of iron domes given that the version that makes up his skull protected his brain from receiving all the common sense his father tried to give him.
Here here.
DeleteQuite the libertarian, that Rand Paul.
ReplyDelete"There's no reason why our White House, our Capitol, and major cities shouldn't have missile defense...."
ReplyDeleteSure, we could just turn the entire country into one big military base. Or we could stop doing things which make other people want to kill us. How about that?
umm, correct me if I'm wrong but surely to have a need for an anti missile system you would need to have a threat from missiles?
ReplyDeleteZionist lobby - check. defense lobby - check.
Go neocon on Iran. Check
ReplyDeleteKiss the feet of Israel. Check
Blow kisses to the MIC. Check
This guy wants that ring of power badly.
I don't think that would be a good use of tax dollars. Actually we should stop taxing people.
ReplyDeleteNeocons, you have to reject Rand Paul; He's not like Ron Paul.
ReplyDeleteStop voting for right-wing statists.
Technological illiterate too.
ReplyDeleteThe Iron Dome system is designed to intercept the subsonic purely ballistic homemade rockets launched from Gaza. It would be an exercise in futility against against the hypersonic maneuverable warheads fielded by Russia and China. Just a big fat plate of pork for the MIC. Very sad.
The Iron Dome would be PERFECT for shooting down the odd Cessna 172 or two a year that violates the Washington DC Air Defense Identification Zone. The thought is scary
ReplyDeleteLet's enclose the whole of DC in an iron dome, like they did in the Simpsons Movie.
ReplyDeleteNow, now. I think the dude's onto something. I would be totally cool with my tax dollars going toward building an iron dome around the entirety of Washington, D.C., and sealing that God damn cesspool off from normal people forever.
ReplyDeleteBreaking news:
ReplyDeleteResearchers at the National Science Foundation have confirmed that Rand Paul's brain is encased in an impenetrable iron dome, which explains his inability to generate a coherent thought. Tragically, the dome, built by GE, is of the same design as the Fukushima reactor, and is in the process of melting down, resulting in his aimless wanderings in Isreal, his schizophrenic policy flip flops, and leaving us all wondering if he was adopted...
Just in case there were some people that actually thought Rand Paul was in favor of CUTTING spending.
ReplyDeleteStill don't get the message?
Aside from that, apparently Rand Paul seems to have reason to believe America may need such a defense. That means you should be really scared of his REAL foreign policy.
Why would we want to protect the capitol and WH from attack?
ReplyDeleteSenator Rand Paul is reportedly working on a book that insiders claim will propel him into a front running position during the next presidential election. Rumor has it that the working title is "Screams From My Father"...
ReplyDeleteCorrection Rand.....vulnerability of these bastions of corruption and collectivism is a GOOD thing and more should be done to make them more defenseless rather than protected......D.A.!
