Funny how quiet he has been since Obama has come to power. He had a lot of what he calls "courage" when Bush was in power. But where is he when Obama kills Americans with drones? Nowhere. Changes the subject to Cheney when Obama's killing Americans is brought up. What a joke. Why even give him space here?
ReplyDeleteHe has not been totally silent in objecting to Obama's abuse of executive power. Ellsberg was one of the named plaintiffs in the lawsuit to enjoin Obama's administration from enforcing the indefinite military detention provisions of the NDAA.
DeleteDaniel Ellsberg Calls U.S. "A Death Squad Country"
ReplyDeleteThis is a good example why the entire Ron Paul fan club are treated as cranks.
What else would you call picking human beings off of a list and raining bombs on them without due process? Your personal cognitive dissonance does not sit well with the fact that you live in, support with your labor, and benefit from the largest empire this planet has ever seen? So it goes...
DeleteYou don't give due process to opponents in a war. You kill them. Also, I don't live in the US. Here, Ron Paul is treated as a fringe crank here who happens to have the solitary redeeming virtue of opposing the invasion of Iraq. He's treated here as a novelty character, which is appropriate because he's a nihilistic crank.
DeleteReally? You just execute them out of hand? Where did you learn that? the SS?
DeleteSince you don't live in the US, what does it matter to you about Ron Paul? At least we have one who is pretty good, unlike you, perhaps.
I don't understand why anon takes exception then. Why does this mean Ron Paul fans are cranks? "You don't give due process to opponents in a war. You kill them". Doesn't that mean we are a death squad nation? In fact, if we weren't then he should be upset. Does the label bother him? Pretty squeamish for a big bad killer. How this then? US Justice Squads dealing out the America way one bullet at a time!
DeleteReally? You just execute them out of hand? Where did you learn that? the SS?
DeleteOf course you kill them. That is what you do in war - kill your opponents.
"You don't give due process to opponents in a war. You kill them". Doesn't that mean we are a death squad nation?
No, it means you're at war, killing your opponents, duh. Why is this so hard to understand? Killing the other side is what happens in war.
