The Koch Brothers, Charles and David, are the joint 6th richest people in the world (#4 in US) with fortunes of $34 billion each, according to Forbes. Their fortune has been created from massive refineries, pipeline networks, and chemical plants, all of which have been boosted by the US shale boom. But, it really was built by them based on their understanding of the theories of economist Murray Rothbard, who they later screwed out of shares in the Cato Institute.
