Dean Baker With a Big Question on Social Security

He writes:
Why does the Washington Post refer to "changes" to Social Security when it means cuts to Social Security?
Here's another question: Why do mainstream economists, including Baker, not preface their remarks about Social Security with the warning that it is is one massive Ponzi scheme and the reason changes cuts are being made is because the scheme has reached the point where the incoming revenues that prop up the scheme are now nowhere near enough to support the payouts?
