Breaking: Judas Christie Underwent Weight Loss Surgery

He says he did it for his wife and kids, not for his political ambitions, reports WSJ

WSJ continues:
He underwent the procedure in secret in February, the paper said, after he checked into a clinic under an assumed name.

NyPo reports:

Despite Christie’s denials, political fund-raisers say that the surgery is a clear sign that he’s going to join the 2016 race — and will do whatever it takes to win.

“This means he’s running for president. He’s showing people he can get his weight in control. It was the one thing holding him back,” a top political donor told The Post.

Sources said Christie didn’t make the decision lightly — he even had private conversations about the operation with once-rotund Jet coach Rex Ryan.

Ryan lost about 100 pounds — down from a massive 350 — after he had the same procedure done in 2010.

Christie has never revealed his weight, but estimates have run from about 300 to 350 pounds.

He hired the same ace laparoscopic and bariatric surgeon as Ryan — Dr. George Fielding, head of NYU Medical Center’s Weight Management Program.

Christie employed cloak-and-dagger tactics to hide the operation. First, he never went into Fielding’s office for medical visits — instead, the doctor came to the governor’s house in Mendham, the sources said.

He managed to keep it under wraps for nearly three months.

Christie said he went under the knife at 7 a.m. for 40 minutes and was home the same afternoon.

As he drops pounds, doctors will pump more saline solution into the lap band, restricting his stomach further and forcing him to eat even less.
Typical politician, no self control and always an unhealthy short cut. If you want to lose weight, do it the healthy Lew Rockwell way.

  1. Please stop calling him Judas Christie. This implies that he is/was a disciple of some holy creed, and then betrayed it. But he is just another Republican and politician, and one that doesn't particularly stand out aside from his girth.

  2. Unfortunately the surgeon mistakenly hooked the governor's colon to his brain, which would explain many of his recent actions. Turns out the spider that supposedly ran across his desk and was unceremoniously dispatched was in fact his lunch...

  3. Exac-tomo! The fat A** typical political Schmoo. Extreme short term time preference and equally dumbass short sighted grasping for a 'solution'. Along with zero self control and common sense. Now he will just look like a more emaciated and cachetic pasty slob.

  4. Weight loss surgery seems too risky to me. It might have been "intensely personal" for Christie, but seriously? Dude...why not just eat right and exercise on a regular basis? What's so hard about that? If you HAD to lose weight super fast, you could've done it through the Total Wellness Cleanse or something like that. http://www.mastermind-intelligence.com/detoxdiet3

  5. Come on. Why slam the guy because he wanted to get some fat loss going on? Of course, he could have done a wellness cleanse and skip the surgery. People like Beyonce have done it and lost lots of weight pretty fast. You can read about how she did it here:

  6. He just wanted to be healthy. And his decision to undergo this type of weight lose operation is really a wise decision. He just proved that he will do anything to live longer and be healthier.
