How to Resolve the Google Chrome Crashing Problem

I am getting a lot of hits on my earlier post asking for help on how to resolve the problem of Google Chrome crashing constantly. I fixed the problem for my computer and added a comment to the post explaining how to fix the problem, but judging from the number of hits I am getting on the post the problem seems to be quite prevalent so I am making this stand alone post with my solution. Here is what I did to stop the crashing:
What worked for me is deleting  my Google browser profile that comes with Windows 8 and created a new profile. This solution works to solve the crashing problem, but be aware that it did result in my losing all my tabbed bookmarks. So make sure you save your bookmarks, before you take these steps.

Here are the steps you need to take.

Make sure your Google browser is closed.

In the internet explorer browser(download it if you don't have it) enter this code in the top address box:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Google\Chrome\User Data\

Hit enter. It will take you to a page of files. Delete the "Profile" file, Possibly "Profile 1" or something else if you gave your profile a different name.

Then open your Goggle browser and a new Profile will be created for you. And hopefully your Google Chrome crash problems are gone.

Good luck!

  5. i have windows 7 its still crashing daily on 7, never had a problem before, but its now 2 or 3 times daily have to reboot, serious 10 out of 10 for crapability. maybe Google should spend less time spying on people and feeding private data to Obama and the CIA and test tube grown beef burger (soy lent green shit for the NWO_ and concentrate on their shitware

  6. I have OS X and google is crashing. I suspect the NSA.

  7. Google appears to be downgrading every facet of their service that I use. This is being done in the name of upgrading, but that is naught but doublespeak.
