The Munk Debates will move the motion: Be it resolved, tax the rich (more)
The debate will take place on May 30.
Taking the Pro side will be Paul Krugman and, get this, the former Prime Minister of Greece, George Papandreou.
Taking the Con side will be Newt Gingrich and Arthur B. Laffer.
Sadly, Laffer is not anti-tax. He recently called for an internet sales tax. Gingrich will talk flat tax.
Bottom line, this debate will be about degrees of taxation and methods of taxation, not about eliminating taxes.

Krug will debate clowns like Gingrich(!) and Laffer-able but refuses to debate Bob Murphy. What a f'ing coward.

ReplyDeleteAnother State circus surely to get a lot of media attention.....and of course, the right is composed of more of the same out-of-touch policy wonks. Why not Schiff and Murphy? Then Krugman would get screwed into the ground once and for all.
