This Weekend in Rahmaland Shootings: 5 Killed, 18 More Injured

In yet another violent weekend in Chicago, a 12-year-old boy was among at least 23 people shot in gun-related incidents that left five dead citywide.

The most recent homicide occurred at 2:10 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of South Cicero on the West Side where DNAinfo Chicago reports 53-year-old Edward Jordan was shot in the neck. Jordan was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead after 8 a.m.

Shaneda Lawrence died just before 1 a.m. Sunday after the 30-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the head late Saturday night. DNAinfo reports the woman was among several others shot while gathering in Ryan Harris Memorial Park in Englewood.

Early Saturday around 3:50 a.m., the Sun-Times reports 27-year-old Keith Johnson was shot in the head during an argument with another man on the sidewalk in the 4800 block of West Iowa. Johnson was found dead at the scene.

The weekend started with two homicides on Friday, roughly half an hour apart. Clifton Barney, 17, was found dead with a gunshot wound in his chest in the 7700 block of South Langley in Chatham around 7:24 p.m. At 8:05 p.m. 40-year-old Ramar Bonner was found shot to death in the 200 block of North Mayfield, shot in the back of his head. According to the Sun-Times, police said an unknown gunman fled on foot after the shooting.

Around the city, 18 others were hurt in non-fatal shootings, NBC Chicago reports. Victims ranged from a 12-year-old boy in Little Village to a 57-year-old woman in West Pullman.
