Poll: Most NY Voters Embarrassed By Weiner, Spitzer

A new poll finds a majority of New York voters embarrassed by former Rep. Anthony Weiner (D-N.Y.) and former Gov. Eliot Spitzer (D-N.Y.) both of whom are seeking to revive their political careers, The Hill reports.

Sixty-eight percent of New York state voters – and 62 percent of New York City voters -- say they are embarrassed by the attention from Weiner’s mayoral bid and Spitzer’s campaign for city comptroller. Sixteen percent said the national attention was “no big deal” with 8 percent calling it entertaining.

Spitzer has a 59 percent negative rating. Weiner has an 80 percent disapproval rating and only eleven percent have a favorable view.
