WaPo's First Big Move Under Jeff Bezos: Friendendorsements

It's not clear how much Amazon's Jeff Bezos, new ownwer of WaPO, had to do with this, but WaPo has just come out with Friendendorsements, as part of its ServiceAlley.com recommendation service.

  1. Sounds like Bezos had a lot to do with it. One reason to buy the Post is to get another window into a targeted audience. An audience with many facets, but one common one: they are consumers. They make a lot of incoming and they spend nearly all of it, or all of it, or more than all of it. Their supposed "facet" as semi-literate, semi-sophisticated readers of a "world-class" newspaper (choke-choke) is pretty much beside the Bezos point.
