Walter Block Gets the Libertarian Message Out on NBC
Under the very appropriate headline, Renowned local economist explains controversial Austrian theory, Walter Block tells the NBC affiliate in the Big Easy what is wrong with government.
Great job, Walter Block! The news people seem confused but that's understandable given that they've probably never heard of Austrian economics or read any serious libertarian thinkers. Good on them for even airing the segment.
JW says that libertarians, such as Block, do not really believe what they say. Instead they are secretly plotting to create a theocratic global dictatorship, and that they believe in creationism.
Yeah, let's tell the people you don't need government while trying to enslave them. Yeah, ok. Got it. Some of these conspiracy theorists have been snorting shit or something.
JW's just a troll or mentally ill. One or the other. I'm hoping he's just fucking with everyone though. If he's serious then please JW, seek psychiatric attention immediately!
You're not misreading it, it actually only took the first paragraph. I don't know what Austrian economics has to do w/ thinking conservatives caused the govt shutdown, or legalizing marijuana. Anyways, good job to Walter Block for at least getting on the air.
I do not know what his exact position is on abortion, but I assume his position is in line with Murray Rothbard's, i.e. that a woman has the full ownership rights to her own body. If I remember correctly, Rothbard's goes into this in his Ethics of Liberty.

ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or this the best criticism ever?
ReplyDelete"The most common criticism of Austrian economics is that it relies solely on logic, and does not seek statistical validation for its claims"
Nope, it's the best!
DeleteJW says that libertarians, such as Block, do not really believe what they say. Instead they are secretly plotting to create a theocratic global dictatorship, and that they believe in creationism.
ReplyDeleteYeah, those darn Jewish fundamentalist Christians. :)
DeleteOh.....brother.

I wish JW would give us the proof of this. I mean, he has to have proof if he knows this is true, right? Because he couldn't be trolling. No way.
DeleteToo bad the person who wrote the article exposes himself as a moron in the first three paragraphs. Or am I misreading that?

DeleteA statist by definition is a moron. They can't think beyond what their deity (government) tells them. In other words, they don't think at all.
DeleteAnd the anchor exposes herself to be a tool of the state in the last sentence about recessions being "worse than they need to be".
DeleteWalter block is very ignorant person. He supports slavery and abortion.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous @7:56AM is ignorant very person.
DeleteI believe Walter Block is in favor of what he calls "voluntary slavery":
