BREAKING: Mises Institute to Name New President

Jeff Deist
EconomicPolicyJournal.com has learned that the Mises Institute will name Jeff Deist the new president of the Institute.

Deist is a tax attorney and former Chief of Staff for Congressman Ron Paul. He is a hardcore Misesian, Rothbardian and Hoppeian.

I have met Deist a couple of times and always walked away with the impression that he is solid and smart. This is a great choice by the Mises Institute.

Deist is curretly at the Institute headquarters in Auburn, Alabama and will begin his full time duties as president after the first of the year.

Lew Rockwell, founder of the Institute, will remain chairman and CEO.

  1. I'm glad to see that the LvMI spared you the inconvenience of writing a hundred thousand blog posts attacking their new president. =)

  2. Except for the implicit endorsement irrational ideas regarding IP (as espoused by that notorious IP Communist, Hans Herman-Hoppe), he seems a good choice.
