I Knew the Jerry O'Driscoll of Murray Rothbard's Living Room

Walter Block emails:

I practically grew up as a libertarian in Murray Rothbard’s living room, along with – you’ll never guess – yes, Jerry O’Driscoll. At that time he was the enfant terrible. He was a pit bull in defense of freedom, liberty, private property rights, anarcho-capitalism, Rothbardianism. O’Driscoll was one of Murray’s chief lieutenants, particularly in matters of money and macro. Anyone deviating from pure Rothbardianism by a single iota would have the early Jerry jumping down his throat. Jerry was magnficent in those days. And now to see this sniveling piece of his really makes me want to throw up.  Murray Rothbard is turning in his grave. The early Jerry O’Driscoll, too, will be ill at what the later O’Driscoll has become. For shame.

  2. Economics and grammar etymology! How awesome is that! Now I know the origins of "pussy" -- as in "wimp."
