Give Mitch McConnell Money, or Christmas Will be BANNED!

I thought he [Jesse Benton] was on the lam, but he's out with brilliant new strategy:
Fat Lip reports:

Give Mitch McConnell money, or Christmas will be BANNED!

mitch xmas
I know you’re all enjoying these last few days before Christmas — well, those of you who aren’t among the 53,000 Kentuckians fearing that your unemployment insurance will be cut off by congressional Republicans — but I regret to inform you of some devastatingly terrible news: The liberals are going to take away Christmas.
But there’s good news: Sen. Mitch McConnell is going to save Christmas… if you give money to his Senate campaign.
Below is the campaign email sent out today by McConnell’s campaign:
(Also, I should note that this is not an Onion parody, this is an honest to God real email sent out by the campaign of the minority leader of the United States Senate.)
Dear Friend,
Christmas is a time for celebration with family and friends, but more and more often we’re seeing our Christmas traditions attacked and dismantled by left-wing special interests that use the money from their liberal donors to squeeze Christmas-loving Americans into submission.
From middle schools to high schools, city halls to state legislatures, left-wing extremists are waging a war on the very thing that brings so many families together during the holidays.
This War on Christmas is real, and it’s unconstitutional. Please take a stand right now and chip-in with $50, $25, or $10 to help us protect Christmas.
Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of being sued because they placed a Nativity scene in their front yard, and our schools shouldn’t have to worry about whether they can allow our children to sing Christmas carols in a Christmas concert.
This is commonsense. But so often, these extreme liberals remind us that they don’t have any of that.
Let these anti-Christmas extremists know that they won’t win this fight. Chip-in with $50, $25, or $10 right now to make your voice heard!
Friend, Merry Christmas and thank you for your support.
In Liberty,
Jesse Benton

  2. Does this mean we'll be seeing the perennial failure of Republican electoral strategy--"culture war"--during the 2014 cycle?

    Count me out.

  3. Will Jesse jump to Bevin's or Grime's campaign after Ron Pauling McConnell's campaign?

  4. "Americans shouldn’t have to live in fear of being sued because they placed a Nativity scene in their front yard"

This is absurd. No one is suing because a Christian has a nativity on their private property. Atheists, like myself, ARE suing, however, when Christians place nativity scenes on "public" property. I'm already forced to give money to support the government, please don't make me give money to support a religion with which I don't agree. Just as Christians wouldn't want to see (or be forced to support) a holiday greeting from the Church of Satan or a holiday greeting from the local Muslim group in the courthouse, "public" elementary school or park, I don't want to see your nativity scene on public property. The Golden Rule seems to be applicable on this point.

The solution to this, of course, is the abolition of "public" property. Until that day comes, please respect the multitude of beliefs (or in my case, non-belief) and leave the religious displays at home or at the church of your choice.

    Peace to all.
