Watch Your Wallets!

Politico reports:
Updating the federal tax code could be the next area in which the Democratic Senate can find common ground with the Republican House, according to Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) and Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.).

Ryan, the House Budget Committee chairman, said he expects Republicans in the House to begin moving on tax reform early in 2014, starting with action on the House Ways and Means Committee, on which Ryan serves.

"Watch the Ways and Means Committee in the first quarter of next year," Ryan said in an interview that aired Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

"We're going to be advancing tax reform legislation because we think that's a key ingredient to getting people back to work, to increasing take-home pay, to growing this economy."
Tax reform is always code for higher taxes. Reform isn't what is needed, taxes cuts from the current structure is what is needed.

  1. It is so sad that so many are so unaware of what the tax code actually says and to what the tax is legally applied. The income tax is an excise and therefore is a privilege tax. The privilege is from the feds for activities where they have an ownership interest...and nothing else! For most Americans this means their earnings fall outside the taxing authority of the income tax but due to deception, fraud, spin and lack of education, most don't know or believe. And please don't fall for the 16th amendment fake argument; it did not create new taxes, so says the SCOTUS! Get the facts, learn the truth and act to restore the rule of law; see and get free of the scam.

    1. Unfortunately it doesn't matter what the "law" is, our gov't went lawless a long time ago.

What matters is what they enforce.

If you don't pay your taxes, you end up rotting in a cell like Peter Schiff's father until you die. So what if you are "right"? They take your life anyway.

    2. But only because so many of "us" are sheep and not men.
