I have reached out to Dr. Block to learn the details behind the cancellation. I will post any response at this post, so check back.

UPDATE:

Walter Block informs me that the cancellations are the result of complications from shoulder surgery he recently had. "I’m ok, but not fit to travel."

  1. No big deal. NY Is not a big college town. You can eat gruel and sing songs. etc.

    2. Jerry Wolfgangster, do they serve "gruel" in leftwing paradises like N. Korea, too?

Fyi, you're wrong about the south. It seceded and established another government. In other words, it "withdraw formally from membership in a federal union, an alliance, or a political or religious organization", to quote one dictionary. So the south was an independent country---for several years, in fact. It follows that Lincoln did, indeed, invade it. It stands to reason further that Lincoln's war of choice was not motivated by any desire to stop slavery. Lincoln made that abundantly clear on numerous occasions, and he also made it abundantly clear that he favored slavery in the form of military conscription.
