OMG Hillary Clinton Compares Russian Moves To Nazi Aggression

From Buzzfeed:
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed the ongoing crisis in Ukraine at a fundraiser in California on Tuesday, making what two attendees described as a comparison between Russia’s decision to issue passports in the Crimean region to the “population transfers” carried out by Nazi Germany before World War II.

Clinton made the remarks at a $1,500-per-plate fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Long Beach at a law firm downtown, Keesal, Young & Logan.

The comments were Clinton’s first known public statement about the still-shifting situation in Ukraine, where an estimated 16,000 Russian troops have been mobilized in the Crimean region since Saturday. Clinton, since leaving the State Department, has been cautious about how and when to weigh in on national security developments.

“Mrs. Clinton talked at length on the situation in the Ukraine,” said one attendee, Harry Saltzgaver, the executive editor of a group of newspapers in Long Beach.

Both Saltzgaver and a second fundraiser attendee, who requested to speak without attribution, described Clinton’s parallel between the actions of Russian President Vladimir Putin and Adolf Hitler, who resettled tens of thousands of ethnic Germans in Eastern and Central Europe to Nazi Germany before the war.

“She compared issuing Russian passports to Ukrainians with ties to Russia with early actions by Nazi Germany before Hitler began invading neighboring countries,” Saltzgaver said. “She said, however, that while that makes people nervous, there is no indication that Putin is as irrational as the instigator of World War II.”
“She talked about how what Putin is doing now is similar to what Hitler did, essentially providing these ethnic Russians in the Crimea region access back to Russia,” said the second attendee. “And that it was destabilizing.”

This is totally absurd. As Wikipedia points out:
One of Adolf Hitler's main goals during his rule was to unite all German-speaking people into one territory.[1] There were hundreds of thousands of ethnic Germans living outside the borders of Germany, mostly in Central and Eastern Europe with the largest numbers being Germans from Russia. Most of these groups of German origin had lived outside Germany for hundreds of years, after emigrating eastwards between the 12th to 18th centuries.
Despite this, Hitler planned to move these people westwards (away from their homes and from the areas they had been living in for centuries) into Nazi Germany. However, Hitler also believed that the 1937 borders and territories of Nazi Germany, i.e. before the "Anschluss" (annexation) of Austria and Sudetenland, were quite inadequate to accommodate this large increase in population. At this time, propaganda for more Lebensraum or "living space" greatly increased[...]
he Nazis set out to encourage the departure of "Germans from outside Germany", known as Volksdeutsche, from the Baltic States by the use of propaganda. This included using scare tactics about the Soviet Union, and led to tens of thousands leaving.[4] Those who left were not referred to as "refugees", but were rather described as "answering the call of the Führer."[3] To encourage support of this program, German propaganda films such as GPU[5] and Friesennot[6] depicted the Baltic Germans as deeply persecuted in their native lands.
Families were transported by ship from the Baltic states and by train from other territories.[3] The German government arranged the transfer of their furniture and personal belongings. All immovable property was sold, with the money being collected by the German government and not given back to the families.[7] This was an intentional act designed to destroy all links with the areas these people had been living in. The value of the real estate left behind was to be compensated in cash and Polish property in occupied Poland.
Putin has no desire to get Russians out of the Crimea. He wants to control Crimea because of its strategic value as a warm water port for the Russian navy. There should be no comparison to what Hitler did ad what is going on in Crimea.

  4. Speaking of Hitler and the Gleiwic incident, it seems that the Russians has intercepted another phone call between the Estonian FM and "Baroness" Cathryn Ashton in which they openly talk about the Maidan snipers as a false flag set up by the former opposition:

    http://rt.com/news/ashton-maidan-snipers-estonia-946/

"Kiev snipers hired by Maidan leaders - leaked EU's Ashton phone tape"

“There is now stronger and stronger understanding that behind the snipers, it was not Yanukovich, but it was somebody from the new coalition,” Paet said during the conversation.

“I think we do want to investigate. I mean, I didn’t pick that up, that’s interesting. Gosh,” Ashton answered.

The call took place after Estonia’s Foreign Minister Urmas Paet visited Kiev on February 25 at the peak of clashes between the pro-EU protesters and security forces in the Ukrainian capital. "

Since the MSM sure wont touch it, I'm hoping it gets blogged virally.

  6. Crimea is Austria, Ukraine is Czechoslovakia, Baltic States are the Polish Corridor, and Kaliningrad is LITERALLY Königsberg.

The comparison is rather striking, really. Focusing on the Volkdeutsche, many of which were resettled in conquered Poland, is absurd.
