That is, the guy who liquidates every bitcoin he receives as soon as someone pays in Bitcoin, and does not price anything in terms of a fixed amount of bitcoins (SEE: Overstock CEO: I May Accept Bitcoins But I Am Not Holding On To Them).
A perfect keynote for a Bitcoin conference, someone who demonstrates by his actions that Bitcoin is not money, only a goofy, volatile transaction method.
Joke's on you, Wenzel. Patrick Byrne retracted his statement about Overstock not holding bitcoins. He also has said the that he has personally invested millions.
ReplyDeleteSo if true, that does what, indicate that Byrne is unstable in his views on bitcoin?
Deletelink?
DeleteIt is true. Not so much as a retraction as a change of mind. First, I could not buy Bitcoin before our firm went live with it (lesst it look like I had bought then made the announcement to try to run the price up). So after we announced, I did start buying some Bitcoin, and announced it then. In addition, I changed my mind on Overstock, and decided to accumulate some Bitcoin now, as the weeks go by (I think I said that we would hold about 10% of it).
DeleteYou can find the links yourself, or take my word for it.

CEO, Overstock.com
Thanks for your reply. Please clarify: 10% of what?
DeleteWhat a surprise, Patrick Byrne responds and Wenzel totally ignores it. Robert, sometimes you are no better than the hack writers you constantly rail against.
ReplyDeleteFor your information, yesterday I attempted to reach out to Byrne to verify that he actually wrote the comment, before responding: https://twitter.com/WenzelEconomics/status/448705126128029696.. Sometimes you write without knowing all the facts and jump to false conclusions. You are a typical confused bitcoiner.
DeleteI actually have a post already written if he responds.
Fair enough, but I'm calling bullshit on you making this post like you weren't up to date on the matter.
ReplyDeleteAs for being a "confused bitcoiner," don't make me laugh. You are going to be a laughing stock on the matter in a year or so. You already are amongst programmers.
