This Chart Tells You the Crony Polluters Have Big Influence in China

  1. Does democracy have to do with why the levels are better in the USA than in China ? China is after all more capitalist now than the US? I think that democracy is as HL Mencken said an advance auction of stolen goods. However for clean water, clean air, and lack of pollution the level of China, it beats dictatorships. I am as big a fan of Rothbard and Mises as anyone on here. I just think anyone who has 100% figured it all out with some philosophy is as full of it as anyone else from a differing perspective. All systems have their pros and cons. I think all human systems are flawed including capitalist systems. Maybe some kind of libertarianism, with some sort of collective expression of environmental protectionism for water, air, open space, and minimal standards. Maybe these standards are done exclusively at a local level however. I want to make the leap to anarcho capitalism - but this story is why I can't. I still think the FDA is awful. I think Ralph Nader was right about the CLean Water Act. Now our clean water is a competitive advantage .

  2. Surprised someone has not already claimed that California has the highest pollution levels because of excessive regulation.

    1. No, Jerry, this is because environmentalist nuts trying to prohibit every human activity more advanced than hunting-and-gathering are really underrepresented in CA. Idiot.
