Walter Block and Judge Napolitano Hit the NYC University Speaking Circuit

The Columbia University libertarians has posted details of Walter Block's lectures this week:

  1. Napolitano's book title is like something out of the twilight zone. The US had a pro slavery Constitution until after the Civil War. So when exactly was this glorious period of Constitutional freedom? State and local govt did not have to follow the Bill of Rights until after Wilson. When Wilson left office, the only provisions that had been incorporated via the due process clause of the 14th were the takings clause and right to jury trial in civil cases. There is more freedom after Wilson (unless you have some unusual definition of freedom).

    Block's position on abortion should be very popular with the college kids.

  2. Not another predictable reply from "Jerry"! Left unmentioned is TR's abominable, preposterous, and wildly unconstitutional view of presidential powers. I am not supposed to be concerned about this, apparently.
