Here's the long version as delivered by Warren earlier today at a Netroots Nation convention for liberal bloggers and activists:
- "We believe that Wall Street needs stronger rules and tougher enforcement, and we're willing to fight for it."
- "We believe in science, and that means that we have a responsibility to protect this Earth."
- "We believe that the Internet shouldn't be rigged to benefit big corporations, and that means real net neutrality."
- "We believe that no one should work full-time and still live in poverty, and that means raising the minimum wage."
- "We believe that fast-food workers deserve a livable wage, and that means that when they take to the picket line, we are proud to fight alongside them."
- "We believe that students are entitled to get an education without being crushed by debt."
- "We believe that after a lifetime of work, people are entitled to retire with dignity, and that means protecting Social Security, Medicare, and pensions."
- "We believe—I can't believe I have to say this in 2014—we believe in equal pay for equal work."
- "We believe that equal means equal, and that's true in marriage, it's true in the workplace, it's true in all of America."
- "We believe that immigration has made this country strong and vibrant, and that means reform."
- "And we believe that corporations are not people, that women have a right to their bodies. We will overturnHobby Lobby and we will fight for it. We will fight for it!"
1. So we need the congress to increase their gains via insider trading?
ReplyDelete2. Nothing is stopping you from ceasing to blow hot air.
3. Congress is in the pocket of big business.
4. And we believe that no one will be compelled to hire someone for any amount of work, let alone "full time".
5. And what is the evidence from Seattle? You got your living wage and then instantly demanded rent controls, etc. Wasn't $15/hr supposed to be enough?
6. My wife's schooling costs less than $3,000/ year. No one is compelled to take on $200,000 in loans from prestigious schools.
7. In a free market, one is free to invest in their future rather than have their future in the hands of corrupt politicians.
8. There is no such thing as equality. You cannot force one to be equally valuable as another. When women are not held back by having children, they are compensated the same, almost to the penny.
9. What is stopping you from equalizing your pay with that of the rest of America? You earn 4x the average annual household income. Do you really believe in equality?
10. I agree. So eliminate the welfare state so that we can open our borders to the best and brightest that want to come and provide us productive output.
11. And Libertarians believe that we have a right to our productivity. We have a right to our incomes. We have a right to decide for ourselves. Get your hands off of me and out of my pocket.

ReplyDeleteMore recently, and arguably more horrifically, A Voice for Men’s International Conference on Men’s Issues has been threatened with violence and death by feminist outlets. In a letter from the venue, DoubleTree Suites in downtown Detroit to AVfM founder Paul Elam, the hotel reports receiving threats so serious and numerous as to require 24/7 police presence and $2 million in insurance.
So they moved.
No one appears to have threatened the commie Netroots convention in Downtown Detroit.
Wouldn’t you think “progressives” who have done enough damage to Detroit would be ashamed to show their face?
