Lax Obamacare Exchange Internal Controls Offer Huge Opportunity for Illegals to Gain Obamacare Coverage at US Taxpayer Expense

The Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General issued a report today stating that “internal controls” for evaluating Obamacare exchanges applications were not always effective at verifying people’s Social Security numbers, citizenship, and eligibility to buy health insurance through federal and state exchanges.

In a companion report, the inspector general found that the federal marketplace alone had 2.9 million “inconsistencies” between the documentation applicants provided and various federal records. It was unable to resolve 2.6 million of them because the online eligibility system needed to do so “was not fully operational,” the report said.

According to WaPo, the most common inconsistencies involve applicants’ income and their citizenship.
