"Capitalism Needs Racism"

Jess Spear
That is the crazed message being sent out by one socialist in Seattle.

Jess Spear is the Socialist Alternative Candidate for WA State House, District 43, Seat 2. She completely fails to identify the true problem, the interference of the state in the affairs of people. It is laws of the government such as the minimum wage, which she wants raised, that contribute significantly to the inability of many black youth from getting that all important first job.

  1. First question I would ask her is how is free market capitalism racist?

    1. IME Socialists on this level usually don't know what free market capitalism even is. She'll tell you how crony capitalism / fascism / corporatism is racist.

  3. From an article about Herbert Spencer:
The same can't be said, however, for the progressive reformers who lined up against him. Take University of Wisconsin economist John R. Commons, one of the crusading figures that Hofstadter praised for opposing laissez-faire and sharing "a common consciousness of society as a collective whole rather than a congeries of individual atoms." In his book Races and Immigrants in America (1907), Commons described African Americans as "indolent and fickle" and endorsed protectionist labor laws since "competition has no respect for the superior races."

    1. Its kinda fascinating how a lot of liberals were so incredibly racist back in those times even when racism was considered acceptable. If nobody knew who the author was your average person in these times would associate that quote from someone who is conservative. Then again when they praise LBJ as the one who "guaranteed voting rights for minorities" and then look at the the truth of LBJ and how incredibly vile he was, it really comes as know surprise.
