Bernanke Used Fake Name When Discussing the Financial Crisis

Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke used the pseudonym, Edward Quince, in emails when he was corresponding with colleagues during the financial crisis.

The false name that Bernanke used emerged during Timothy Geithner testimony as part of a class-action lawsuit against the government by shareholders of American International Group Inc. Geithner confirmed on the witness stand that Quince was in fact Bernanke.

A Justice Department lawyer, Kenneth Dintzer, introduced emails to and from Quince as evidence in the case on Wednesday, reports WSJ.

It was revealed in court that under the name Quince, Bernanke corresponded, with among others, Geithner and  William Dudley of the New York Fed.
