On Sunday FOX News reporter Ed Henry asked Obama about Jonathan Gruber’s controversial comments where he claimed American's are stupid and need to be lied to about Obamacare.
Obama answered:
Obama answered:
But there are White House records that show that Gruber met with Obama in the Oval Office to formulate the Cadillac Tax scheme.“I just heard about this. I get well briefed before I come out here. The fact that some adviser who never worked on our staff expressed an opinion that I completely disagree with in terms of the voters, is no reflection on the actual process that was run. We had a year long debate, Ed. I mean go back and look at the stories.”
And,there’s even video of Jonathan Gruber admitting he met with Obama in the White House to discuss Obamacare.
Bonus points for Mr Obama. It seems to me that he unwittingly proved Gruber's point about intentional government obfuscation. Sure, it's more than likely that Mr Gruber was NOT on the White House staff payroll. But that's not the point at all. Gruber was a highly paid and highly touted consultant that helped muddy the waters around the ObamaCare bill. The fact remains that government intentionally using confusing and complicated talking points that can't easily be followed. By not turning off his government-speak even in this instance, Mr Obama shows us how it is done.
