At 488 meters long and 600,000 tons fully loaded, Prelude FLNG (floating liquefied natural gas) will be the largest floating object ever constructed.
Shell plans to moor the facility some 200 kilometers off western Australia at the Prelude gas field for 25 years, where it is expected to produce the equivalent of 110,000 BOE per day.

Would this be something similar to Mark Thornton's work on sky scrapers? Seems like loads of resources would have to be consumed to complete this project. However it is quite diffrent in a lot of ways and liquefied natural gas seems to be all the rage these days.
